Polarization Predictions in the GRB Prompt Phase with the Internal Shock Model

چکیده
As the standard gamma-ray burst (GRB) prompt-emission model, internal shock (IS) model can reproduce fast-rise and slow-decay features of pulses in GRB light curve. The time- energy-dependent polarization deliver important physical information on emission region be used to test models. Polarization predictions for prompt phase with magnetized IS should investigated carefully. magnetic field is very likely mixed decays radius. synchrotron presence such a decaying recover Band-like spectrum phase. We investigate dependence both time energy framework model. Due large range parameters, it hard distinguish magnetic-reconnection through degree (PD) curves. PD could increase toward high-energy band while decreases zero above megaelectronvolt dissipative photosphere Therefore, we conclude that these two models emission. Finally, find that, independent observational band, profiles $\xi_B-PD$ curve time-integrated time-resolved PDs are similar, where $\xi_B$ strength ratio ordered component random component.

Bulk Compton Emission in the GRB Internal Shock Model
We investigate the role of the bulk Compton-scattering process in the internal shock model. We numerically show that the radiation field created by internal shocks does not affect the efficiency of the energy conversion in the shocks even if fireball outflows have highly nonuniform velocity distributions. However, the bulk Compton-scattering produces an additional high energy component especial...
متن کاملThe Supercritical Pile GRB Model : The Prompt to Afterglow Evolution
The " Supercritical Pile " is a very economical GRB model that provides for the efficient conversion of the energy stored in the protons of a Relativistic Blast Wave (RBW) into radiation and at the same time produces-in the prompt GRB phase, even in the absence of any particle acceleration-a spectral peak at energy ∼ 1 MeV. We extend this model to include the evolution of the RBW Lorentz factor...
متن کاملSEARCH FOR POLARIZATION FROM THE PROMPT GAMMA-RAY EMISSION OF GRB 041219a WITH SPI ON INTEGRAL
Measuring the polarization of the prompt -ray emission from gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) can significantly improve our understanding of both the GRB emission mechanisms as well as the underlying engine driving the explosion. We searched for polarization in the prompt -ray emission of GRB 041219a with the SPI instrument on INTEGRAL. Using multiple-detector coincidence events in the 100–350 keVenergy ...
متن کاملDispersion of the Break Energy in the GRB Internal Shock Model
In order to investigate the dispersion of the spectral break energy in gammaray bursts, we simulate internal shocks, including effects of shell-splitting after shell collisions and the Thomson optical depth due to electron–positron pairs produced by synchrotron photons. We produce pseudo observational data and estimate the break energy. If the distribution of initial Lorentz factors of shells h...
متن کاملPrompt high-energy emission from gamma-ray bursts in the internal shock model
Context. Gamma-ray bursts (GRB) are powerful, short duration events with a spectral luminosity peaking in the keV MeV (BATSE) range . The prompt emission is thought to arise from electrons accelerated in internal shocks propagating within a highly relativistic outflow. Aims. The launch of Fermi offers the prospect of observations with unprecedented sensitivity in high-energy (HE, >100 MeV) gamm...
